The new FISO-LS fiber optic pressure sensor system, specifically
designed for life-science research and available from Harvard Apparatus
in the United States and many other regions, is the first FISO pressure
sensing system designed for multi-use, non-disposable applications.
The small sensors, at 300-, 640- and 1000-micron diameters and pressure
ranges of +/- 300 mmHg and 0-10 bar, are designed to be used in any
pre-clinical physiological pressure measurement application. Whether the
researcher is measuring intracranial, gastro-intestinal, uro-genital,
respiratory, spinal, intraocular, left ventricular pressure and more,
the system is designed for accuracy.
As signal transduction does not rely on fluid-filled catheters, there is
no need to be concerned with hydrostatic pressure columns, dampening by
air bubbles or the natural dampening of signal in fluid transduction.
