Samsung, in its continued push into the health-and-fitness space, could
add yet another sensor to the next-generation Galaxy Note . According to
details obtained by SamMobile, Samsung's forthcoming phablet may
feature an ultraviolet - UV sensor.
An industry first, the Galaxy Note 4 would help track potentially
dangerous UV levels. A companion app would score radiation from "low" to
"extreme," and offer recommendations.
To measure conditions, we're hearing that the phone sensor's will need
to maintain a 60+ degree orientation, with the phone's back to the sun.
Samsung historically hosts Unpacked events at the annual IFA conference
in Germany. This year's extravaganza gets under way on September 5, so
look for the Note 4, amped up with all its sensors, to arrive then.
